Beginning his career as a comedian working in small clubs, D.L. Hughley has since established himself as a hugely popular and extremely talented comedic actor as well as one of the hardest working men in show business.

His show business break came when he was chosen as the first host of BET's (Black Entertainment Television) "Comic View," which showcased talented black comedians. He tours nationally and internationally, performing his first love - stand-up - at sold-out concerts and clubs. "One of the most beautiful things in the world I've seen or heard is people laughing, even when there seems to be so little reason for them to laugh - that's a great thing to me."

He recently appeared along with fellow comedians Steve Harvey, Cedric the Entertainer and Bernie Mac on the "Kings of Comedy Tour," one of the highest grossing comedy tours ever. The tour sold out in most of the major concert arenas in over 50 cities across the country and resulted in filmmaker Spike Lee's hit film "The Original Kings of Comedy."

His one hour HBO comedy special "D.L. Hughley: Going Home," taped in Charlotte, North Carolina, became an instant audience favorite and was nominated for an NAACP Image Award for "Outstanding Variety Series/Special." His performance was also nominated for an Image Award.

D.L. enjoys listening to jazz music, swimming and spending time with his family.
